As
part of our comprehensive Physician Recruitment Program,
our community-based office has set up an assistance
program for medical students wishing to do electives in
Peterborough. The following program components are
available to serve your needs:
- Assistance
in identifying one of a large number of supervising
physicians. In Peterborough we have doctors who are
preceptors affiliated with ROMP, others who are
affiliated with the Medical School from which they
graduated and others who are willing to consider
elective opportunities without any formal affiliation
but anxious to support your medical training
experience.
- Assistance
in locating accommodations for electives and support
to access funding from the ROMP program where
applicable and as needed.
- Welcome
packages to the community including courtesy passes to
the Peterborough Family YMCA and courtesy tickets to
the Peterborough Pete's Hockey games.
- An
orientation, upon request, of the city and county area
in the Peterborough region outlining the present and
future needs and opportunities for practicing in this
area.
